On Sunday 7th February, the Year 11 Boy’s volleyball team played Northampton VC in the adult county league. This was the return fixture to the one Wrenn won 3-0 in December. After that game Northampton said they were without key players and said the return fixture would be a different story.

If that was the case it didn’t show in the first set, our boys played very well keeping their serves in (something we’ve worked hard on) and ensuring we score at least two points to every point lost. Wrenn won 25-18. The second set was a different story when the starting 6 players was rotated to give everyone some game time, it didn’t work in our favour and we lost 25-17. The third set we went back to our strongest line up and won it 25-21. The fourth set was ours, taking a good lead, but after a few substitutions our momentum dropped and we threw it away to lose 18-25. Deciding set was back to basics and the boys worked hard for every point, winning 15-10. Meaning we won the game 3-2.

It was a tighter affair but we made it hard for ourselves.

3 games in the league left, if we win all of them (which is very possible) the boys will be county adult champions. Next game against Wellingborough at Weavers on February 20th.

Thanks for the support
