Application Process

Wrenn Academy welcomes applications from students from all over the local area. The application process including relevant dates can be found via the county Council website here.

If your child is already at secondary school and wishes to move to a different school, you will need to make an in year application.

If you have any questions regarding admissions please contact the Academy.

Applications for places outside the normal admissions round

Applications should be made via the Local Authority. This will then be referred to the Academy for a final decision.

Admissions in the Sixth Form
Students in our Year 11 who meet the entry requirements for the Sixth Form will automatically be offered a place.

There will be an agreed number of places available to students applying from other schools.  Where there is capacity to admit additional students onto courses, they will be admitted, provided they satisfy the entry requirements. To guarantee admission into the Sixth Form, students should have obtained at least 5 A*-C grades at GCSE, including English and Mathematics.  For certain combinations of courses, this requirement may be relaxed.  For some subjects, additional requirements may apply.  For accurate information, consult the Sixth Form prospectus. For all details relating to Sixth Form admissions, please contact Mrs Tina Mayes, Sixth Form Manager, on 01933 222039 or via email  .

Our Full Admissions policy can be seen here.

Transport and access

Due to the nature of our regular catchment area we only currently operate one bus service to Earls Barton. However the Academy sites are served by public transport from many outlying areas of the town and surrounding villages.
Information regarding public transport in and around Northamptonshire can be viewed at Northamptonshire County Council’s website here.

We also encourage students to access the Academy via foot and bicycle, where we have secure lockable facilities on both sites.
