Wrenn School has received an Outstanding grade from OfSTED for its Sixth Form, following a recent inspection. Across the school as a whole, the report says, “Students enjoy coming to school, behave well, develop active healthy lifestyles and say they feel safe.” Parents’ comments in the report were equally supportive of Wrenn, with one parent stating, “It is a brilliant school. I would definitely recommend it.”
OfSTED inspectors were highly impressed with Wrenn’s Sixth Form, citing outstanding teaching as the reason that “students learn very well and make rapid progress.” Students told the inspectors that “teachers go out of their way, often giving up their own time, to support their learning needs.” They also valued the outstanding care, guidance and support they received, including the way the school monitored their progress and helped them improve their work.
Throughout the rest of the school, the report highlighted several further positive features, in particular the care and support students received from staff, and the wide range of activities and opportunities available. Many parents also expressed how their children had grown in confidence since attending Wrenn; one parent, quoted in the report, said, “The school has offered my daughter so many opportunities to improve.” A partner who works regularly with the school told the inspectors, “Wrenn never gives up on its students.”
Headteacher William Thallon said, “We were very pleased with the outcome of this inspection, particularly in relation to our Sixth Form. Wrenn is a strong and secure community, in which respect and care for each individual are paramount – this comes across very clearly in the report. I was delighted to see the behaviour and attitude of our students praised so highly, and the hard work of all our staff recognised.”
