On Sunday 29th November 2015 Mr Loosemore took two teams to the first round of the National under 16 volleyball competition. The top two teams in the group would qualify for the last 16 in the country.

In the first game Wrenn A took on Wrenn B. In the first set Wrenn A were comfortable winners beating the B team 25-18. However the B team came back in the second set and also took the third set, winning the match two sets to one. Despite losing the first match the A-Team knew that if they won their remaining games they would still qualify. Whilst the B team had to ensure they won their remaining games to finish top of the pool.

Both teams did then go on to win all their remaining games, both beat Nuneaton volleyball club, the hosts of the competition, they also beat Northampton Rockets, a combination team made up of Northampton boys and Nottingham boys. This now means that Wrenn A and Wrenn B progressed to the next round and both are ranked in the top 16 teams in the country.
The next round will be played in January; the other teams in the pool will be Richmond and Chadwell Heath. Both these opponents will be very strong.

The boys are understandably very pleased with their achievement, huge congratulations to all those involved.
